Meet our Providers

Gordon Memorial Health Services is privileged to have five outstanding Providers on our staff. All five of our Providers travel throughout the month to our Rushville Clinic to see patients, and those Providers that are not in Rushville are assisting patients in our Gordon Clinic.

Anpo Charging Thunder, MD

Anpo joined Gordon Memorial Health Services staff in August 2015. Though she started as a Nurse's Aide for Gordon Memorial by night and a Chadron State College student by day.

She moved to Omaha where she was accepted into Medical School. From there she obtained her medical degree in Family Medicine from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.

Anpo and her Husband Dave have 6 Children. Quanah is 26, married with 3 children, and lives in Omaha works as a landscaper.  Katyn is going to be 24 in August, engaged, is managing a daycare, and has 1 son.  Douglas is 22 and living here in Gordon and working. He has plans to enter the military.  Gabriella turned 18 this summer, recently graduated from Burke High in Omaha, and is taking time off for a year then plans to pursue a career in the military.  Alyssa is 12, has a good sense of humor, is interested in Volleyball, and aspires to be a doctor.  Joey is a GIRL (despite the name) and 8 years old.

Dr. Christopher Costa, M.D.

Dr. Christopher Costa joined Gordon Memorial Health Services in May 2009.

He is originally from California and did his undergraduate work at the University of San Diego in California. He later graduated with his Doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha.

Dr. Costa went on to do his residency at Kearn Medical Center in California.

Dr. Costa is Board Certified in Family Practice.

Jeffrey Lias, MD

Jeffrey Lias joined our staff as our surgeon in 1995.

Dr. Lias hails from Humboldt South Dakota. He went on to complete his undergraduate studies from South Dakota State University at Brookings, and obtained his medical degree from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion.

Dr. Lias performed his residency at Cinncinati, Ohio, and he specializes his time in Surgical Services. He is licensed to practice medicine in South Dakota and Nebraska. In his spare time, Dr. Lias enjoys hunting.

Dr. Lias comes to Gordon Memorial Hospital for General Surgery on Tuesdays.

Cassie Banks, DNP, FNP-C

Cassie joined Gordon Memorial Health Services staff in September of 2008. She calls Gordon her hometown.

Cassie completed her undergraduate studies from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Bethel College of Nursing. Then she obtained her Masters and Doctorate Nursing Degrees from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.  Her Master’s thesis focused on Central Venous Access Device Care and Maintenance.  Her Doctoral capstone focused on pressure ulcer prevention and treatment.  She has published research articles in several professional journals and has been a presenter at the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner’s National Conference and the Rocky Mountain Research Symposium.  She received the Excellence in Nursing Award for distinguished academic achievement during her doctoral work at Regis University.

In 2008, Cassie completed a Critical Care Internship in Vail Colorado.

Cassie loves all of her patients, especially the children that come to visit her. She has a love for Family Practice and is Board Certified in Family Practice.

In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, hiking, competing in Triathlons and spending time with her husband Tyler, and children Hadley and Nixon.

Paula Plog, PA-C

Paula joined Gordon Memorial Health Services staff in December 2014. She first started serving in Gordon and Rushville Clinics.

Paula is a native of Ekalaka, Montana. She graduated from West Texas A&M in Canyon, TX. She went on to further her education and graduated from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska with her PA license.

Paula is board certified as a Physician Assistant. She enjoys gardening and reading her free time.

Ronda Larson, PA-C

Ronda joined Gordon Clinic in 1994. Then in 1998 she joined the staff of Gordon Memorial Health Services.

Ronda is a native of Plainview, Nebraska. She worked at Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance and lived in Hemingford before moving to Gordon.  She graduated from Chadron State College, and later recieved her degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Ronda prefers patients of all ages and specializes in Family Practice.

In her spare time, Ronda enjoys cross stitching, quiliting, and beading.
